LimitlessCommunity is a unique opportunity for your church to grow its work with young people. We work with teams of youth leaders to help them develop and realise their dreams and plans.
What is LimitlessCommunity?
“Limitless Community is what it says on the tin: a community not a conference. It’s a community of youth workers who share a hunger to see Jesus transform the lives of young people, and a commitment to support and pray for each other. It’s an opportunity to dream big and get practical in planning for your own young people, but to do so in a room full of experts who can equip, inspire and encourage. Each Limitless weekend has left me buzzing with ideas and possibilities and reminded me that youth workers aren’t isolated individuals but members of a body of believers who all want the same thing: to make disciples.”
LimitlessCommunity is all about helping you to extend the reach of your youth group. It puts into your hands some powerful tools to enable you to dream big and plan carefully through Him, ‘who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine.’
Investing in Mission
Cambridge and District Youth For Christ exists to support the local church in seeing young people changed by Jesus and this is the heart of LimitlessCommunity. It is for churches looking to invest in Jesus’ command to ‘Go and make disciples’ of young people.
LimitlessCommunity gathers teams from several local churches to form a community with a shared heart to ‘extend your reach’ to young people. We’ll help you to focus on what matters, to work as a team, to understand your particular local church context and then to create a vision and plan for your youthwork. As part of the community we all encourage and refine each other’s dreams and plans in order that we might increase each other’s effectiveness.
How Does LimitlessCommunity Work?
LimitlessCommunity is a two year commitment with teams brought together for four 24 hour gatherings. These run every 6 months, Friday evening to Saturday evening, to enable as many youth leaders and volunteers as possible to be involved.
Each gathering includes:
Teaching on youth work tools
Guided team discussions
Strategic planning for the future
Time to eat and chat with your team
Support from experienced youth workers
In between each gathering there will be small group meetings called ‘huddles’ for team leaders to help keep you growing in character and skills as you make disciples.
Each gathering follows a simple structure, asking three questions…
What is the reality of our youthwork at the moment?
Teams are given time and tools to help evaluate the current state of their youth work both the good and the bad.
-What could be?
What do we long and dream to see happen in our youthwork?
Input, led discussion and space for teams to expand their thinking and to help imagine what could be in the future.
-What will be?
What are the next steps to make our dreams and longings become reality?
Teams are given support and resources to make a 6 month plan that has concrete measurable goals to enable the transition from ‘What is?’ to ‘What could be?’
Further Development Opportunities
We have developed additional resources within the LimitlessCommunity programme to support your journey into making disciples.
LimitlessLeaders is a 5 session video based course for training leaders. LimitlessCommunity churches have found this a powerful way to pass on the values they are exploring to their teams of volunteers. It has also been used as the core curriculum for Accredited Lay Ministry training for Youth Specialists in the diocese of Ely. more…
LimitlessPlus is a graduate programme for churches who have participated in LimitlessCommunity. It’s an opportunity to further apply the learning from the gatherings and continue the connection with other churches established through the course.
Coaching is one of the most effective forms of support for those in leadership. We offer one to one sessions with one of our team of accredited coaches, lasting 60 minutes each, with the aim of empowering leaders to implement change. A coaching season normally lasts for 6 or 8 sessions and is tailored to the needs of the leader.
The next LimitlessCommunity will start in January 2019, and will run for two years.
Gathering 1 – Friday 25th – Saturday 26th Jan 2019
Gathering 2 – Friday 28th – Saturday 29th June 2019
Gathering 3 – Friday 24th – Saturday 25th Jan 2020
Gathering 4 – Friday 26th – Saturday 27th June 2020
Each gathering runs from 6.30pm til 10pm on the Friday and starts again on the Saturday at 8.45pm for breakfast and finishes at 5.30pm.
£420 per year for a team of 3,
Plus £35 per gathering for each additional team member
This includes gatherings 1 and 2, all materials and refreshments throughout, a light breakfast and hot lunch on the Saturday, and the Huddles between gatherings.
Due to the nature of LimitlessCommunity it is essential to come as a team. Teams work best when they are no smaller than 3 and no larger than 7 people. To get the most out of the process it is important that as many members of the team attend the entirety of each of the 4 gatherings over the 2 year process.
