Cambridge & District Youth for Christ are delighted to be able to introduce to you our newest initiative: Forge is a programme beginning in September aimed at supporting and encouraging our young people in deeper discipleship of Jesus.
Forge is for young people in years 10-13 enabling them to:
connect up: spurring one another on as we meet together
press on: taking bold steps to become more like Jesus
join in: partnering in God’s mission through the local church
The heart of Forge is to support the youth work of local churches, and to develop a community of young people from across the region who are thriving in their pursuit of Jesus.
We want to enable them to build significant relationships with other young Christians, worshipping together and receiving teaching on discipleship and leadership, and working out their faith and call as part of their local church community. The programme will run throughout the year with a mix of monthly Monday evening meetings and termly weekend residentials.
Dates and Times
Monday nights 6pm-9.30pm
24th Sept | 29th Oct | 17th Dec | 25th Feb | 29th Apr | 1st Jul
Overnight Friday 6pm-Saturday 6pm 23rd-24th Nov | 18th-19th Jan | 29th-30th Mar
The cost for the Forge is £80 which covers food, accommodation for overnight stays and resources. We encourage churches to consider if they can financially support their young people in being part of Forge. There are also bursaries available, as we wouldn’t want the cost to prevent anyone from being able to participate.
To apply for Forge, please download and fill in the application form and return it to ‘Jax Keal, Cambridge Youth for Christ, Church Centre, 14 Alpha Terrace, Cambridge, CB2 9HT’
